The Imaging in 2020 Mission
A major challenge for medicine in the next millenium is the optimal application of rapidly changing and increasingly sophisticated imaging technology. A key element in mastering this opportunity is the open and effective communication among basic and clinical researchers from many different fields. The goal of Imaging in 2020 is to lay the foundation for such communication by bringing together individuals from diverse specialty areas in an open and interactive environment. We hope to foster the development of enduring associations that will lead to innovative solutions and applications. While the format is intentionally less structured than the traditional scientific meeting, we have chosen image enhancement as a connecting theme. Image enhancers, ranging from contrast agents to molecular probes, offer immediate potential for optimizing current technology. It is therefore an important area for interchange among chemists, biologists, physicists, imaging scientists, and oncologists. We propose to facilitate future advances through continuing interaction among experts from these various fields.

Imaging in 2020 will be held at the Jackson Lake Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Although nestled in the Grand Teton National Forest, the lodge is easily accessible from Jackson Airport (serviced by American and Delta Airlines). Breath taking views of the Grand Teton mountains will provide a superior backdrop to the meeting. Participants will have an opportunity during the unscheduled afternoons to partake in many of the fall-weather outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, or just relaxing in a truly spectacular natural setting.

Invited attendees are encouraged to register today to guarantee their participation.
