Directors to Participate on eConnections Advisory Board
PASADENA, Calif. - April 11, 2001 - eConnections,
Inc., announced today that the executive directors of the
two leading trade associations in the electronics industry,
Ray Hall with the Electronic Representatives Association,
and Robin B. Gray Jr. with the National Electronics Distributors
Association, will join its advisory board.
Quotility, an eConnections tool, provides enhanced connections
to the world's leading electronic component manufacturers,
distributors, and manufacturers' representatives. eConnections
has established an independent and neutral platform that gives
customers needing electronic components an efficient way to
request, collect and compare critical product information.
Since information is exchanged through a secure private marketplace,
users can be confident that the data is authorized, timely
and reliable.
"The ERA is pleased that eConnections has recognized
the importance of keeping manufacturers' field sales operations
connected to their authorized distributor and manufacturer
partners," said Ray Hall, executive director of the Electronic
Representatives Association.
Neutral and independent, Quotility replaces the inefficiencies
of traditional quoting processes with automated and intelligent
quote distribution, tracking, consolidation and reporting
capabilities. Customers can upload quotes, select the authorized
suppliers and distributors they wish to quote, then receive
an automated spreadsheet containing detailed information as
to price, availability, manufacturers' part numbers and standard
packaging. Because that information is from authorized sources,
customers know they'll get warranty protection, technical
support, customer service, inventory management and value-added
services.
"The sheer number of leading electronics companies choosing
to participate in Quotility illustrates the market demand
for an authorized, independent, neutral quoting service,"
said Robin B. Gray, Jr., executive vice president of the National
Electronics Distributors Association. "The fact that
manufacturers representatives, distributors and suppliers
are coming together to use Quotility demonstrates the power
of the electronics community working together to support their
authorized channels."
"We're very excited to have the unique perspective of
both Robin Gray and Ray Hall to help set the course for eConnections,"
said Rob Rodin, chairman and CEO of eConnections. "Their
respective organizations are the foundation of the authorized
channels we are committed to represent."
