Working Together to Give Customers a New Competitive Advantage
PASADENA, Calif., - Sept. 20, 2000 - Molex Incorporated
(NASDAQ: MOLX and MOLXA), the world's second-largest manufacturer
of electronic, electrical and fiber-optic interconnection
products and systems, today announced a strategic alliance
with eConnections, a provider of next-generation supply-chain
management for the electronics industry. The eConnections
partnership will give Molex new ways to help its customers
manufacture products faster, better and more efficiently,
increasing ROI and decreasing time to market.
"For our customers, time is the critical business issue,"
said Chuck Bartlett, vice president, electronic commerce and
logistics, Molex. "To get to market quickly, they have
to coordinate all of their supply-chain partners so they work
like a single team. eConnections gives us the tools to help
them begin that complex process, and to move towards supply-chain
optimization."
The eConnections supply-chain engine helps Molex customers
get the right products to the right place at the right time
as efficiently as possible. It creates for each of them a
neutral, secure, private marketplace with end-to-end supply-chain
visibility and seamless integration. Available tools include
quoting, bill-of-material management, forecast visibility,
planning, engineering change notification and available-to-build
scenarios.
"Companies no longer compete against each other, supply
chains do," said Rob Rodin, chairman and CEO, eConnections.
"We're very excited to link eConnections capabilities
with Molex's lineup of world-class products and services."
